Virginia Tech and Carilion Clinic are bringing together the power of research, innovation and medicine to create the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTC) and the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute. The school and research institute will capitalize on Virginia Tech's world-class strength in basic sciences, bioinformatics and engineering. They will also utilize Carilion's excellent physicians and rich history in medical education to train the next generation of physician leaders. The charter class is planned for August 2010.
