UNC Health Blue Ridge, located in Morganton and Valdese have been serving people throughout our area for nearly 175 years. Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are a community based healthcare system with 315 licensed acture care beds. Our primary service area population is 90,000 with a total service area population of 216,000 lives.
In 1999, our two hospitals partnered to create a single community health system called Blue Ridge HealthCare. Then, in 2014, the system unveiled its new name as Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge to reflect the deeper integration of its previous affiliation with Carolinas HealthCare System, now Atrium Health. In October of 2021, we dissolved our partnership with Carolinas HealthCare System and entered into a partnership with UNC Health.
We are committed to making it possible for patients to receive most of the healthcare they need here locally. Our medical technology is state-of-the-art. Our facilities are modern, attractive and convenient. Our key services reflect the community’s most widespread medical issues: heart disease, cancer, digestive diseases, bone and joint disease, diabetes and women’s health.
