AdventHealth DeLand has 164-beds and is one of the six hospitals in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties that composes the AdventHealth Central Florida Division - North Region. Formerly known as Florida Hospital DeLand, the organization’s parent company changed the name of all wholly-owned entities to AdventHealth on January 2, 2019.
Based in Altamonte Springs, AdventHealth is a connected system of care. With more than 80,000 team members, AdventHealth is one of the nation’s largest faith-based health care systems with nearly 50 hospitals and hundreds of care sites in nearly a dozen states.
With the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ, AdventHealth DeLand provides whole person care to heal the body, mind and spirit.
HISTORY
• In 1959, with five acres of land donated by the Scarlett Family and an additional five acres purchased, the West Volusia Hospital Authority constructed a 60-bed hospital that opened its doors in March of 1962.
• In 1968, bed capacity increased to 103 beds.
• The hospital’s expansion continued throughout the 70’s and 80’s and the hospital was acquired Adventist Health System in October 2000 and named Florida Hospital DeLand.
• In January 2019, Florida Hospital DeLand was renamed AdventHealth DeLand.
