Avera Medical Group - Windom

Avera Medical Group Windom currently employs 3 family practice physicians, and one physician assistant.  The clinic recently relocated to a brand new 12,500 square-foot space opened in 2020.   The clinic offers telemedicine, leading edge X-ray and laboratory services, 3D mammography and DEXA scan, and larger, more space-efficient exam and procedure rooms.  Physicians with Avera Medical Group Windom are employed by Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center.

WINDOM AREA HOSPITAL
The Windom Area Hospital is a 25-bed facility owned by the City of Windom.  The hospital has an average census of 10-15 patients and assists in the delivery of approximately 15 newborns per month.  The hospital recently completed the addition of a new Emergency Department and CT Scanner.  The medical staff consists of eight primary-care physicians and three mid-level providers.  The hospital boasts a variety of outreach services. 

THE COMMUNITY OF WINDOM, MN
Windom, Minnesota is a lively and growing city, and is the county seat of Cottonwood County.  A transportation hub for the region, Windom is served by U.S. Highway 71 and MN Highway 60.  The city has a diverse economy including manufacturing, agriculture, medical and adult care facilities.  Windom’s courthouse square is the focal point for a variety of successful retail businesses.  Windom has long been a safe, desirable community with excellent public services, schools, clubs, activities and events.  Windom’s population is approximately 4,700 people, and is located approximately 2 hours southwest of Minneapolis, and about 90 minutes northeast of Sioux Falls, SD.

EDUCATION
Windom has an excellent public school system, including a brand new elementary school (K-5th) opened in September of 2020, and a combined middle and high school (6th-12th).  The nearest community colleges are located in Worthington, MN just 28 miles southwest of Windom and Jackson, MN, located 19 miles south of Windom.
