Christus Health Pine Street is certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and is also designated by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. Formerly known as Wadley Regional Medical Center, Christus Health Pine Street offers a full range of medical specialties and advanced diagnostic capabilities. Servicing the city of Texarkana and the surrounding communities for 109 years, Christus Health Pine Street started in a residential home with 15 hospital beds. The growing city and community need necessitated expansion. In 1959, and named after J.K. Wadley who generously contributed to the building of the new hospital, the new 200-bed Wadley Hospital was opened. Today at 370 hospital beds, Christus Health Pine Street continues to stay on the cutting edge of technology while providing patient-focused care.

The 21-bed emergency department at Christus Health Pine Street has an annual ED volume of approximately 44,000 patients. The emergency department services include a 4-bed Fast Track for minor emergencies which is staffed by Mid-Level Providers, seven days per week. Emergency department physicians enjoy flexible scheduling of 12-hour shifts in this state-of-the-art facility. The Coral tracking and charting system is used in the emergency department to ensure that patients are seen promptly and treated with great customer service.

Texarkana is a unique city divided by State Line Avenue which separates Texarkana, Texas from Texarkana, Arkansas. The city name describes its location, lying along the Texas and Arkansas border and just a short distance above the Louisiana boundary. Texarkana is 180 miles east of Dallas, 144 miles southwest of Little Rock and 72 miles north of Shreveport. The city is at the junction of Interstate 30, and U.S. Highways 59, 67, 71 and 82 providing the opportunity for area business and industry to thrive with the easy access of the city. The Texarkana Regional Airport also offers four daily roundtrip flights to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as well as to Houston Intercontinental George Bush via American Eagle and Continental connections.

Texarkana offers an outstanding public education system as well as Texarkana College, a fully accredited junior college. Texas A & M University has a branch located in Texarkana as well as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Area Health Education Center (AHEC) located on the Arkansas side of the city which includes a Family Practice Residency Program, training in Medical Technology, Respiratory Therapy and Nursing.

Board certified or board prepared in emergency medicine or primary care with EM experience. Residency completion required as well as ATLS and ACLS; PALS preferred but not required.
