Cox Barton County Hospital
Cox Barton County Hospital is a beautiful 25-bed critical access hospital with highly engaged employees and physicians and has great community support. The current facility is only 10 years old.
Cox Barton County Hospital had its start in 1949, when the local American Legion Post erected a memorial – in the form of a hospital – for the men and women serving in the armed forces. Nearly 70 years later, the hospital offers the community a variety of specialty services including cardiology, neurology, radiology, rehabilitation services, rheumatology, a sleep lab, and several clinics.
Lamar is a town of 4,500 located 1.5 hours west and north of Springfield, Mo., CoxHealth's hub.
