Job Description:


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


Teaching:

Supervision and instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows as appropriate in skills associated with the professional practice of General Internal Medicine and Medicine/Pediatrics.

Clinical:

Provide evaluation and care as a faculty/attending physician for outpatients at the locations of Marshall Internal Medicine in Huntington and Teays Valley. Your ambulatory practice will include eight to nine half days of clinic per week in Internal Medicine on a routine basis when not on hospital service. This will include a combination of both personal clinics and resident walk-in/continuity clinics.

Provide evaluation and care as a faculty/attending physician for inpatients at affiliated hospitals, e.g. Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital, Huntington VA Medical Center, as assigned on a rotational basis at the direction of the section chief of General Internal Medicine.

Participate in rotations to see patients at the resident clinic at St. Mary’s Medical Center as part of your duties.

Additional locations will be listed on the visa applications so that they may be approved locations for future consideration. Opportunities for assignment at these locations or changes in the assigned clinical duties may be considered and mutually agreed upon.

 

Research:

Initiation and completion of research projects at the request of students, residents, or faculty as part of your scholarly activity plan.

Service:

Participate in committees at university and hospitals, and other organizations as assigned.

Attend Section meetings for university and hospitals as assigned.

Virtual/remote attendance and participation will be permitted.
