On February 28, 1972, we became one of the first hospitals in the country—and the first in the state of Wisconsin—to merge a Catholic hospital and a Lutheran hospital, beginning a proud history of innovation that continues today.

As the name implies Beaver Dam was literally named after a beaver dam that was built in a stream under the river. Both the 6000 acre Beaver Dam Lake and the Beaver Dam River are truly stunning to visit, go fishing and boating on, take walks near, or to simply enjoy nature!
Beaver Dam offers the best of both worlds, whether you want tranquility or living near big-city life. The city is situated near three metropolitan areas, while having options to bike, hike or enjoy the water in a more serene setting.
Beaver Dam is just 40 minutes from Madison and 90 minutes from Milwaukee and Green Bay.
