Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital — Transforming fetal, women’s and children’s care for the region, in 2020 MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building. Along with our nationally ranked clinical care is MUSC’s major pediatric clinical research center, the Charles P. Darby Research Institute, enabling us to continually imagine what’s possible—today, tomorrow and beyond.

MUSC Children's Health is an integrated health care delivery system that provides comprehensive care for children from before birth up to eighteen years of age. We believe children have special needs for everything from medicines and the size of their beds to special care that only specially trained pediatric professionals can provide. U.S. News & World Report honored four of our pediatric services in the 2022 – 2023 Best Children's Hospitals survey.
