St. John's Episcopal Hospital

St. John's Episcopal Hospital is the only full-service acute care hospital on the Rockaway peninsula. It is an active and growing provider of comprehensive medical, surgical, emergency and diagnostic services for residents of The Rockaways, the Five Towns, southern Queens and southwestern Nassau County.  St. John's is a 240-bed community hospital affiliated with Episcopal Health Services and welcomes people of all faiths.  St. John's Episcopal Hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is a teaching affiliate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. The hospital is also a New York State Designated Stroke Center, a recipient of the Gold-Plus "Get with the Guidelines®–Stroke" Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association, and is a certified emergency heart care station.

Far Rockaway is a community located in the Queens Borough of New York.  Far Rockaway means "Place of Sands" in the Munsee Native American language.  It gets this name due to its historical beach front views.  Far Rockaway contains the historic Bungalow District, which is part of the US National register of Historic Places.  The city is connected to the rest of New York City by the subway system allowing easy travel to other part of New York City.
