St. Luke's Jerome Medical Center

Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is seeking a talented mid-level provider to join our hospitalist team - continuing our mission of providing excellent inpatient care to rural communities.

Incoming provider must have experience working autonomously and have a procedure-focused skill set including vent management, central lines and emergent intubation. RPG will provide malpractice and onsite accommodations (apartment or upscaled call room) during shift(s).

We schedule 24-hr onsite shifts and are seeking a minimum participation of 7 shifts per month. Jerome Population: 13,000 Primary industry(s): Farming, Industrial businessAirport(s): Magic Valley Regional Airport Delta flies here from SLC, Boise is closest major airport – two hours away 

St. Luke's Jerome Medical Center is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital with an average ED Census of 16-18 per 24-hours (Annual ED Volume: 6,180) and an average inpatient census of 7 from a total of 10 inpatient beds.  Support services include:

• 24/7 x-ray, lab, CT in house, 
• Respiratory Therapy available in-house twelve hours/day and on-call overnight
•   Physical Therapy 8 hrs/day
•  Rounding in am NLT 8, Informal evening rounds with night staff prior to turning in
• Interdisciplinary Team Meeting every morning. 

At St. Luke's, RPG providers will:

• Admit patients from the ED
• Round and care for the entirety of the inpatient service
• Respond to all codes and rapid responses
• Attend meetings while on shift
• Understand utility of Swing Bed program and champion this program for hospital
• Stay within town limits while on-shift (Maximum response time to hospital is 20 minutes)

Additional opportunity notes:

• There is no MRI 
• There are no OR, OB, or ICU specialists in Jerome
• ICU and IMCU are transferred to St Luke’s Magic Valley (MV) in Twin Falls about 20 minutes away. 
• There is a very close relationship with MV for any specialty consultations or transfers that are needed.
