Stepping Stone of Wilkes

North Wilkesboro, NC

Stepping Stone is a medically-assisted opiate addiction treatment program. This means we help those who are addicted to opiates such as heroin, morphine, Oxycontin, oxycodone, and other prescription painkillers through a combination of medication and counseling.

During admission, you will meet with a counselor to discuss your addiction history, followed by a physical and lab work. If you are accepted into treatment, the doctor will help you determine which medication is right for you.

We use methadone and buprenorphine, two medications that safely and effectively alleviate the symptoms of opiate withdrawal. When you begin treatment, you come in every day to receive your medication and, if needed, to meet with your counselor. As you progress through treatment, you may be eligible to receive medication to take home with you so that you do not need to come to treatment each day. Our morning hours and take-home medication program are designed to help you continue regular attendance at work, school, and the ability to care for your family on a day to day basis without feeling as if attendance is a burden.
