TACOMA

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, its affiliated clinics and dental clinic are located at Fort Lewis, Washington, near the city of Tacoma. Madigan AMC is one of only three designated Level Two trauma centers within the U.S. Medical Command.

Tacoma, affectionately called the City of Destiny is conveniently situated 30 miles from both Seattle and Olympia. Tacoma's downtown area is the state's hub of progressive activity and home to the Museum of Glass and the Washington State History Museum. Tacoma was listed on Forbe's magazine's 2014 list of "Best Places for Business and Careers", and offers the attractions of larger metropolitan areas with a hometown feel. The downtown area attracts an eclectic mix of foodies and artists while the shores of the Puget Sound and Mount Rainier inspire outdoor enthusiasts.
