The Department of Medicine was established in 1837 and is comprised of 169 full-time faculty, 15 part-time faculty, 108 housestaff and 73 fellows in 11 divisions, with 14 Endowed Chairs. It currently has $98 million in grant funding, including $76 million in NIH grant funding.
