Job Description

Opportunity available for a predominantly Night-Shift Diagnostic Radiologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No.1 Best Hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Divisional duties include interpreting a full range of diagnostic imaging studies and providing consultation to referring physicians, and clinical expertise with radiograph interpretation, body CT imaging, and general ultrasound is expected. Availability to work evening shifts interpreting imaging exams at Parkland Health & Hospital System, a Level 1 trauma center, and its acute care hospital, is necessary.  

Service locations include Parkland, and UT Southwestern’s hospital and ambulatory clinics. State-of-the-art equipment is available at all locations. The PACs system is integrated with the EMR for easy review of relevant history by the interpreting radiologist. Standardized dictation templates are utilized for ease of decision support and up-to-date radiology interpretations and recommendations. Radiologist-led quality assurance programs ensure patients are safely and optimally imaged.

Call responsibilities are rotated equally among the group, with separate ER in-house coverage for after hours.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency program and a minimum of 1 year of fellowship training in any diagnostic subspecialty
  • Board certification/eligibility with the American Board of Radiology
  • Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required
