Pathologist Job at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV

(Morgantown, WV) West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine (PALM) seeks an academic Pediatric Pathologist, for an open-rank faculty appointment to meet the needs of the WVU Medicine Children s Hospital, a state-of-the-art 150-bed Children s Hospital that opened in September 2022 and is the premier site within the state for primary through tertiary care of children. .

Responsibilities include all facets of pediatric and perinatal pathology to include evaluating general and specialty surgical specimens and perinatal autopsies. Active involvement in teaching our medical students, residents, and fellows is required.

Qualifications:

• MD, MD/PhD or DO degree
• Board certified/eligible in AP or AP/CP
• Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Pathology
• State medical license

About WVU Medicine Children s Hospital: WVU Children s houses a pathology laboratory, pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy suites. WVU Medicine Children s is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, ECMO program, level IV NICU and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.

About the Department: WVU PALM is a growing department consisting of faculty in AP, CP, Translational Pathology, Anatomical Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Clinical AP services are supported by advanced Digital Pathology and Telepathology systems, and state-of-the-art ancillary. Faculty research activities are supported by the PALM Tissue Bank, Research Histology Lab, Brain Bank and the Rapid Development Laboratory.
