Occupational Medicine Job at Ballad Health in Glade Spring, VA

Ballad Health Medical Associates is seeking an experienced, certified, Virginia licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Onsite Clinic with a manufacturer in Glade Spring, VA. The position is Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm.

Our Occupational Health Services focus on the health, safety, and wellness of employees.

Duties:

• Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of all occupational illnesses and/or injury.
• Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury and may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards.
• Examine patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment, recommend tests to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose conditions.
• Performs OSHA regulated testing/exams to include DOT physicals and medical surveillance exams (training available).
• Have or develop an understanding of OSHA and other federal and state guidelines.
• Provide pre-employment physicals to determine work ability.
• Develop relationships with employees and leadership.
• Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, diagnostic testing or related therapeutic procedures and appropriately refers to specialty as needed.
• Works under the direction of the occupational medicine medical director.

Experience:

• Occupational Medicine, Ortho, ED or Primary Care experience preferred.  This position involves providing treatment for workers compensation injuries, new hire physicals, specialty exams, develop company relationships to better understand work environments and OSHA recordables.
