Comprehensive pediatric ophthalmological care for both medical and surgical problems as well as the ability to have a productive adult strabismus practice.  Small NICU requiring retinopathy of prematurity coverage with time set aside for this to be performed

• Multiple pediatric optometry partners to help manage refractive needs.
• Established Referral pattern with Geisinger and community pediatrics and community ophthalmology partners
• Dedicated Pediatric exam lanes and waiting room.
• Support from PA-C
• Multiple operating platforms including new ASC and 2 hospitals based operating rooms.
• Shared home call averaging 1 in 8 weeks.
• Ability to work with local medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth medical School.
• Ophthalmology residency in the central region and working towards northeast regional residency program in the coming years that would provide more resident teaching

The Geisinger Eye Institute is a comprehensive group of ophthalmology and optometry.  It has a regional system with large physician groups in the central and the northeast region. In the northeast region we have specialties of cornea and external disease, Two retinal specialists, Oculoplastic, neuro-ophthalmology, two Glaucoma specialists, and multiple comprehensive ophthalmologists. There is a large pediatric ophthalmology patient with established referral patterns for a candidate to easily hit the ground running with a busy clinical and surgical practice.  A great place to work with collaborative colleagues and great staff.
