The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Neurologist with expertise in tertiary-level epilepsy care to join our practice.
The Epilepsy division is looking for a subspecialty trained epilepsy physician with a clinical and research focus. Activities and necessary skills include staffing epilepsy clinic, a 7-bed epilepsy monitoring unit, interpretation of routine and hospital-based EEG and continuous EEG Monitoring, intraoperative electrocorticography, Phase 2 epilepsy surgery evaluations including subdural and stereo-EEG evaluations with electrical brain stimulation for functional brain mapping.
Candidates must have strong clinical skills and have demonstrated a track record of academic success in research and medical education to fulfill the Mayo Clinic 3-shields model. They must also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and support staff. Epilepsy Division faculty are actively engaged in education of medical students, residents, research trainees and fellows. Our environment provides rich opportunities for clinical and translational research that are enhanced by established collaborations across Mayo Clinic's 3 sites in Minnesota, Arizona, and Florida. License or Certification:
Candidates must be board-certified in Neurology and Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology. Clinical neurophysiology training must have an emphasis in EEG and included direct experience in routine and complex neurophysiology involving EEG with direct experience in the presurgical evaluation of patients with drug-resistant epilepsies.
