West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are recruiting a Neurologist for United Hospital Center with an academic appointment of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate will practice in Bridgeport, WV.
As a full member of the WVU Health System, United Hospital Center is part of a broad, integrated network of physicians, hospitals, clinics and specialized institutes across West Virginia, Southwestern Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Ohio. UHC is a 692,000 square foot structure rising eight stories. It is designed around the environment, with the patient, family, staff, and community in mind, which includes patient privacy, a high level of technology integration, and improved access to care. The acute care facility has 292 private inpatient rooms with a medical staff that consists of more than 381 physicians and providers.
The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia s largest health system and the state s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children s Hospital in September 2022. Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a Neurology residency program and must be board certified/eligible in Neurology.
