Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician – Central Brownsville Clinic
Brownsville, TX | WellMed Medical Group, part of the Optum Care network

WellMed Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our established Central Brownsville clinic in Brownsville, Texas.


Position Highlights

  • Quality-focused care model: See just 14–16 patients per day, with 30-minute appointments
  • No RVUs or volume-based metrics – compensation is tied to quality of care
  • Generous time off: 160 hours PTO in year one, 5 CME days, and 8 paid holidays
  • Robust clinical support: Includes NPs, PAs, RNs, LVNs, MAs, nurse educators, case managers, referral managers, coders, centralized scheduling, and IT support

Qualifications

Required:

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid DEA license

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience or interest in managed care/value-based care
