Job Summary

  • Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
  • Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
  • Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration. 
  • Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. 

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota required.
  • Federal and State DEA Certification is required for South Dakota.
  • National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • ATLS and ACLS certifications required.

Work Schedule

  • Full Time, Varied Shifts; 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • Every 4th  weekend & holiday
  • Every third week night & Every 4th  weekend call time
