Emergency Medicine Medical Toxicology Opportunity
About the Opportunity
The Department of Emergency Medicine at St Joseph’s Medical Center, Stockton, California is seeking a BE/BC Medical Toxicologist. The academic appointment in Graduate Medical Education is with Emergency Medicine, and clinical appointment is available with Emergency Medicine, or with another primary clinical division depending on primary specialty. Clinical work can also be available for those specializing in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology or Psychiatry.
This position primarily focuses on the further development of our inpatient toxicology service and broadening our core toxicology rotation for our EM residents, and electives for our medical students, and FM, IM, TY residents and others. Faculty will also participate in Tox – focused didactics and SIM sessions. Faculty will also engage in growth, development and implementation of Ed and Inpatient Toxicology consultation service.
The Emergency Department serves over 100K patients/ year and is a STEMI, Stroke, and ROSC receiving center. We are one of the largest EMS receiving centers in the San Joaquin Valley, serving a socio-economically disadvantaged population. The EM residency, founded in 2018, has 12 residents per year, and the GME program also supports residencies in IM, FM, transitional year, psychiatry, neurology, anesthesiology, orthopaedic surgery, and urology, as well critical care, cardiology, and an US and SIMulation fellowships.
