Job Description

The Mayo Clinic Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Gastroenterologist who is committed to excellence in patient care.  We are particularly interested in individuals specializing in one or more of the following areas:   care of children with pancreatic disorders and polyposis syndromes, IBD, liver, and advanced endoscopy. 

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology provides inpatient and outpatient care to children and adolescents with complex medical and surgical conditions. The multispecialty clinics include Aerodigestive Clinic, Celiac Clinic, Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic, Esophageal Clinic, Feeding Clinic, General GI Clinic, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, and Liver Clinic. Among many expert services for children and teenagers, Mayo Clinic offers an endoscopy unit that provides the latest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including interventional endoscopic procedures. The Pediatric Gastroenterology division is a collaborative group practice currently consisting of 10 Physicians, 3 Advanced Practice Practitioners, 10 Registered Nurses, and 5 Registered Dietitians. The Pediatric Gastroenterologists work in close collaboration with the 90+ member, multispecialty Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and with the  80 members of the adult Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division, allowing integration of academic interests.

Our large outpatient clinical base and strong institutional commitments to education and research provide excellent career opportunities.  Excellent education exposure is available with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, including our Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship, Pediatric Residency, and Mayo Medical Students.  Fellows in our division work closely with all faculty and can pursue a NIH T-32 funded research path.    The institution has an outstanding infrastructure for basic and clinical research, including the Center for Translational Science Activities and in the Rochester Epidemiology Project.

Qualifications:

  • Board certified/board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Minnesota.
  • Experience in teaching and clinical, basic, or translational research.
  • Excellent clinical skills. 
  • Prefer candidates with a specialization in one or more of the following areas:  pancreatic disorders, polyposis syndromes, advanced endoscopy.
