Shannon is a locally owned health system with over 90 years of dedicated service to the San Angelo community, is actively recruiting a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our growing team. You’ll practice in our state-of-the-art, newly built 55,000 sq-ft cancer center, equipped with advanced technology to provide the highest level of cancer care.  Shannon is a 400 provider multi-specialty group in Central west Texas.

Position Highlights:

• Clinic hours: Monday–Friday with 1:4 shared call

Job Duties Summary:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of cancer types and blood disorders
• Coordinate care with Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and other specialists within the group
• Participate in tumor boards and collaborate on complex cases
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and ongoing care
• Optional participation in teaching, mentorship, and future residency training programs
