Gastroenterology Job at Veterans Health Administration in Fayetteville, NC

The Fayetteville, NC Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a Gastroenterologist (GI) Chief! The GI Section Chief reports to the Chief of the Medicine Service and assures the effective delivery of GI care while meeting and exceeding compliance standards.

You will provide expert consultation and treatment in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, including, but not limited to, specific GI clinics, GI procedures, and for inpatient medical, surgical, and critical care services. Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments for all assigned GI patients and provide consultative evaluations for general medical wards, surgical wards, and the emergency department.

Ensure GI Section operates efficiently, including managing employee schedules, ensuring consistent, up-to-date, call schedule coverage, conducting monthly section meetings; allocation of resources to ensure adequate coverage/availability of clinical programs, testing, and consultation coverage; ongoing assessment of GI programs for adequacy and appropriateness.

Preferred: board certified in GI with advanced clinical experience and demonstrated administrative and leadership skills.
