Job Description

Summary

This position will play a vital role in the Health Center's Women's Health Program. Successful candidates will be able to diagnose, treat, and prevent medical conditions that affect women, and work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and provide comprehensive postpartum medical services for adult patients. The candidate will also be able to diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders that affect women, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. The candidate will be responsible for meeting, assessing and diagnosing patients in our clinic and providing them with healthcare services that meet the national standards of care.


Essential Functions:

  9. Perform a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
  10. Diagnosing and prescribing treatments for disorders and diseases.
  11. Conducting routine check-ups on patients.
  12. Monitor and treat expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
  13. Educate patients about disease prevention and detection, and reproductive health.
  14. Keep up to date with current practices and innovations.
  15. Serve as a clinic supervisor for mid-level providers.
  16. Meet productivity standards for care providers, including a goal of seeing 16–24 patients daily.
  17. Participate in care team huddles, provider meetings, and all-staff meetings.
  18. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education

  1. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of California.
  2. OBGYN Board Certification
  3. DEA certificate
  4. CPR Certification

Skills / Experience

1. A keen interest in helping the underserved population (e.g. the homeless population).

2. FQHC Experience a plus

3. Familiarity with Quality Measures a plus

4. Able to be successfully credentialed by BACHC.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

6. Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus


Physical Demands

This is a physical position that will require standing on your feet and walking. This would require the ability to sit, walk, bend or stand as necessary, and the ability to lift to 25lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday; hours range from 7:30am-6:30pm with occasional approved overtime.

Travel

On occasion, travel will be required. For staffing purposes, employees may be temporarily assigned to another one of the organization's locations.
