The Humboldt Bay Coast Guard clinic has a rewarding opportunity for a physician who specializes in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine to provide care for active-duty Coast Guard members and their beneficiaries. The clinic is located in McKinleyville, CA.
Humboldt Bay is located along the coastline from the Mendocino-Sonoma County line north to the California-Oregon border. It is a beautiful area!

Qualifications. The provider of Primary Care Physician services shall possess and maintain for the duration of service:
A. A diploma from an accredited school of medicine.
B. A current unrestricted active license to practice medicine from one of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U. S. Virgin Islands.
C. A current board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
D. A Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate.
E. A no unfavorable information on file rating with the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB).
F. A current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
G. A minimum of two (2) years recent clinical experience (immediately preceding the submission of this offer)
Summary of Duties:
Physician shall perform a full range of Outpatient Primary Care Physician's services on site, using government furnished facilities, equipment and supplies, to a variety of patients. All aspects of Outpatient Primary Care services shall be commensurate with the capabilities of the provider and the Medical Department including but not limited to the items listed below;
A. History, detailed examination, testing and diagnosis;
B. Treatment plan recommendation and review;
C. Case consultation with referring Medical Department Representative;
D. Expert opinion in related medical board action;
E. Provide preoperative and postoperative care;
F. Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent conditions as they occur in addition to regularly scheduled appointments.
G. Prepare and submit appropriate documentation as specified in applicable regulations (to include fitness for duty reports, progress notes, Periodic Health Assessments, etc.);
H. If a medical emergency occurs to a patient who is receiving services from the Contractor, the Contractor shall immediately notify the Medical Department for assistance, and report the nature of the emergency to the Commanding Officer or his authorized representative.
I. Participate in the Health Services Quality Improvement Program.
J. Provide instruction to clinic staff on an ad hoc basis
