Guam Regional Medical City is a 147-bed hospital that was started 9 years ago to meet the unique challenges and fill the tremendous need of delivering high quality Cardiology care within our remote island home. We are looking for an enthusiastic Cardiologist to join our growing practice. You would be seeing patients within our hospital-based outpatient Cardiology clinic, M-F 8am to 5pm. You would work alongside our Cardiologist as well as a team of experienced nurses, medical assistants, and our Cardiology Nurse Practitioner overseeing our outpatient Cardiology clinic. Typical Procedures include Echocardiogram, Right heart diagnostic Cath, pacemaker placement, Zio patch, Holter Monitor, 6 min. walk test.

Compensation and Benefits:
Expected Salary range: $542K to $665K per annum (Commensurate with experience)

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients suffering from heart problems using either invasive or non-invasive cardiology tools, including echocardiographs and nuclear tracers.
- Performs invasive treatments by inserting stents, catheters, or balloons into the body.
- Catheterizes patients to monitor how efficiently the heart is pumping and the rate of blood flow to the heart as well as collects tissue samples for biopsy.
- Performs and integrates multilevel specialized cardiac tests.
- Advises patient and family to promote understanding of test results, involvement in care, and treat ment decisions.
- Prescribes medication treatment options and procedures.
- Gives and prescribes medications compatible with the other medications the patient is taking.
- Coordinates and ensures implementation of treatment plans, tracks patient progress, and provides follow-up evaluations.
- Recommends a healthy diet and a good exercise regimen for the patient to enable a quick recovery.
- Coordinates with any other specialist the patient is seeing.
- Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, complete, and is compliant with office, hospital, and government entities [within seven days of treatment]
- Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding, and CPT code assignment.
- Provides medical consultation as requested.
- Participates in the development of medical services, including protocols, standard procedures, and management of patient-care-related activities.
- Gives feedback to and accepts feedback from all staff in a respectful manner.
- Acts in a positive and professional manner, complying with practice policies, procedures, and federal and state laws.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Promotes health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
- Displays empathetic bedside manners.
- Efficiently uses organization s healthcare resources.
- Contributes to quality improvement activities by actively participating in the medical staff activities, serving on various committees, and suggesting and supporting process improvements.
- Advises the Chief Medical Officer of any problems that can affect the efficiency of the organization.
Education/Certification/Licensing Requirements:
- Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency.
- Valid certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine and board certified in cardiology, and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration.
- ACLS certification
- Valid DEA registration
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the latest heart procedures and studies, echocardiography, and new cardiac break-throughs. Ability to analyze, manage conflict, and solve complex heart problems. Ability to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. Ability to receive detailed information, and express and exchange ideas orally. Ability to perform under stress, working long and irregular hours.

Ability to interact effec tively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels, and value systems. Professionally performs in a tactful manner.
