Medical Director of Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine - Uniontown, PA

Job Description

WVUHS Medical Group seeks a dynamic and experienced Medical Director of Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine to lead our team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) at Uniontown Hospital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to providing excellent patient care, and a passion for the professional development of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Administration:

  1. Provide strategic leadership for the Pulmonary Critical Care section.
  2. Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  3. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes excellence in patient care and professional growth.

Clinical Oversight:

  1. Practice in and oversee the pulmonary clinic, ensuring high-quality outpatient care.
  2. Lead the inpatient pulmonary consult service, providing expert consultation to hospitalized patients.
  3. Direct bronchoscopy services, ensuring optimal diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes.
  4. Manage the critical care unit, coordinating care for critically ill patients.
  5. Oversee the sleep program, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and management of sleep disorders.

Collaboration:

  1. Function collaboratively with the Trauma and Critical Care Institute of WVU Medicine.
  2. Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  3. Participate in regular meetings with hospital leadership to ensure seamless integration of services.

Professional Development:

  1. Mentor and guide physicians and APPs within the Pulmonary Critical Care section.
  2. Facilitate ongoing education and training to ensure the team stays abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
  3. Encourage and support professional development activities for individual team members.

Qualifications: Applicants must be Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated leadership experience and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. All qualifications must be met at the time of appointment.
