  Urgent Care Physician Assistant

  Centennial Medical Group/First Call Medical Center

Salary Range $135K - $225K (Based on 40 hour work week) with Incentive Compensation, Closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving Day!

Practice in a Medical System with Primary Care so you never feel left on an Island! Collaborative care environment between Urgent Care and Primary Care! Physical Therapists onsite to support all Ortho Injuries as well.

Purpose: Provide healthcare services in an Urgent Care Facility typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients. Some cases may require the ability to prescribe medication. Must graduate from an accredited educational program for physician assistants. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.

• Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.

• Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.

• Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.

• Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.

• Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.

• Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.

• Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

• Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of technicians and technical assistants.

• Visit and observe patients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician. Activities Getting Information

  Qualifications:

Master's Degree First Professional Degree - awarded for completion of a program that: requires at least 2 years of college work before entrance into the program, includes a total of at least 6 academic years of work to complete, and provides all remaining academic requirements to begin practice in a profession. 2 years’ experience of Complex Problem-Solving Skills. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. 

Skills and Abilities:

Medicine and Dentistry - Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. 

Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Communication

Compensation: $65-$85 per hour and incentive bonus eligibility up to 20% of base pay rate.
