Colon and Rectal Surgery Job at Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ

Banner University Medicine Phoenix seeks a highly motivated and independent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Oncology/Colorectal Division at Banner University Medicine/University of Arizona.

The ideal candidate will support the surgeons and the colorectal surgery service line and will play an integral role; primarily in patient care in the clinic setting, but will also provide inpatient rounding and OR support. Our Advanced Practice provider role involves treating both benign and malignant colorectal conditions, with a focus on postoperative surgical care and non-malignant cases (Non-Operative Time). The qualified candidates will be passionate about making a difference in patient lives, continuity of care, and teamwork.

The division takes pride in offering comprehensive and multidisciplinary surgical and medical care for the richly diverse patient population of Southern Arizona, and our staff of surgeons strive to provide the best in compassionate patient care, resident and medical student education and training, together with extensive community and academic endeavors.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-operative counseling
• Conduct clinic visits and perform office procedures
• Address patient calls as necessary
• First assist duties as needed based on team coverage
• Will round on the inpatient service one day a week and cover the floor and pager
• See all complex colorectal patients within 72 hours of discharge
• Will see all patients for long-term surveillance after the first 6-month surveillance visit

Position Details & Requirements:

• Arizona License or eligible 
• Certified ACNP or PA (RNFA Cert. For NP candidates)
• Experienced candidate preferred but will consider new grads
• Full-Time | Monday-Friday (No Weekend or Evening Coverage Required)
