Job Description

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Neurology seek a Neurologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Weirton, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of neurology. The provider will see out-patients in the Neurology Practice in the Medical Office Building adjacent to the Medical Center.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed neurology residency program and be board eligible/certified in neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Weirton Medical Center is an acute care, 240-bed institution (187 acute care beds, 20 adult psychiatric beds, and 33 skilled care beds) serving the Northern panhandle of West Virginia, Eastern Ohio, and suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The medical/dental staff is comprised of some 170 physicians with board-certified physicians in the medical and surgical subspecialities. Overall, WMC employs more than 1,000 people. Weirton is located 30 miles from Wheeling Hospital, another WVU Health System hospital.
