Part-Time Gastroenterologist (2/8ths) – IBD Specialist

Job Description

The Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a highly qualified Gastroenterologist specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) for a part-time position. This role is for a 2/8ths appointment, meaning the candidate will work approximately 10 hours per week (equivalent to 4-5 days per month). This flexible schedule allows physicians to balance clinical practice with academic, private, or other professional commitments while making a meaningful impact on the lives of our nation’s Veterans.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation and care to Veterans with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and other gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Support and participate in clinical education by mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to gastroenterology and IBD.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Advanced training in managing patients with IBD.
  • Unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
  • Strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to Veterans.
