Position Overview:
Join a dedicated team providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and postoperative care for gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. This role includes hospital rounding, procedural block time, clinic visits, and administrative tasks, ensuring exceptional care across our 4-hospital organization in Central Oregon.
Work Schedule & Call Expectations:
- Minimum 40 patient contact hours per week.
- 1:6 GI call rotation (not exceeding 1:4).
- Primarily based in Bend, Oregon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat GI conditions using advanced procedures like upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, and ERCP.
- Provide patient-centered care, educating patients and families about conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
- Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain compliance with health system policies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- MD/DO with completion of an accredited residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
Licensure/Certification:
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
- Unrestricted DEA number and Oregon medical license.
Experience:
- Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology (required).
- 2 years of mixed hospital and clinic practice experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
