Shift: Night shift, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Position Overview
Broadview Senior Community at Purchase College is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a dynamic, intergenerational college campus environment. The LPN will provide high-quality care to residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care settings, ensuring accurate medication administration, treatments, emergency care, and documentation. This role also involves working closely with the interdisciplinary team to meet quality care standards and support the holistic well-being of residents.
Principal Duties
- Medication Administration:
- Accurately administer medications and treatments per physician orders, ensuring timely and precise execution.
- Resident Monitoring:
- Take and document vital signs; administer treatments such as dressings and catheterization as necessary.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with physicians to order medications and ensure proper shift-to-shift reporting of resident status and care updates.
- Documentation:
- Maintain thorough and accurate records, including narcotic counts, medications administered, and care provided.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond effectively to resident emergencies, notifying appropriate contacts and taking immediate action when needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Resident Admissions & Discharges:
- Participate in the admission and discharge process, providing seamless care transitions.
- Physician Rounds & Updates:
- Attend physician rounds and provide necessary updates regarding resident care.
- Resident Safety & Dignity:
- Ensure the dignity and safety of residents, maintaining a respectful and supportive environment at all times.
- Training & Development:
- Attend in-service training sessions as assigned to stay current on best practices and community policies.
Qualifications
- License:
- Active LPN or RN license in New York State.
- Certification:
- CPR certification required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in geriatrics or similar fields.
