Family Medicine Physician Job at Centurion Health in Georgia

Centurion Health is  seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time physician to provide comprehensive medical care for incarcerated individuals in a secure and structured environment. This position is ideal for a skilled physician looking to make a meaningful impact in a correctional facility while balancing a flexible schedule. The physician will work as part of a multidisciplinary medical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare to meet the diverse needs of the inmate population.

Work Schedule:

• Part-time, flexible hours (specific schedule to be discussed during the interview process).
• On-call rotation may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for incarcerated individuals, addressing both acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Manage a wide range of medical issues, including general healthcare, preventive medicine, minor surgeries, and treatment of injuries or illnesses.
• Prescribe medications, monitor treatment plans, and follow-up with patients to ensure progress and recovery.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, X-rays, EKGs) as necessary to diagnose and treat inmates effectively.
• Coordinate with nursing and support staff to ensure the smooth delivery of care.
• Offer medical consultations for mental health, dental, and other specialized care needs, working with appropriate healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient medical records in compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Provide on-call services on a rotating basis or as required by the facility.
• Collaborate with the facility's healthcare team to improve overall health outcomes for the inmate population.
• Adhere to all prison security and safety protocols, maintaining a professional and supportive presence in the correctional environment.
• Assist with the development of healthcare policies and protocols within the prison to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals.
