  1. Salary: $220,000 - $250,000

The City of Franklin is a quiet town in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The city was named for Jesse Franklin, one of two state commissioners who surveyed and organized the town in 1820 as the county seat for what would become Macon County in 1828. Jesse Franklin served North Carolina as a senator and as its 20th governor. The city of Franklin was not formally incorporated until 1855. Franklin is home to approximately 3,900 citizens, but the population nearly doubles during the spring, summer and fall seasons due to our temperate climate and beautiful scenery. Job Description

Physician – Primary Care

Franklin CBOC - Franklin, North Carolina.

  1. This is a rural outpatient clinic, with a panel size of 1200.
  2. This position works with three other PACT providers to provide primary care to veterans.
  3. This position reports to the Clinic Director/Chief of CBOC, and chief of staff.
  4. This position requires NO supervisory duties.


Highlights of this position include:


Potential starting base salary: $220,000 - $250,000.

Pre-approved Incentives of RRI $30,000 over 3 years.

Monday-Friday 8am-4:00pm.

Outpatient Primary Care.

No on-call or weekend shifts required at this time. However, it is possible in the future. 


    Additional requirements:

    Board certified or board eligible.

    MD/DO.

    Must be BE/BC Family or Internal Medicine.

    Must have at least 3 years of primary care experience.

    5. Malpractice Insurance for VA physicians are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act - 28 U.S.C. § 1346 and 28 U.S.C § 2671. Medical personnel have statutory immunity from “individual” malpractice liability while acting within the scope of employment; a VA physician cannot be sued in civil court for a malpractice (tort) claim.
