Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, MN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Physician to join our outpatient primary care team.  This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality medical care in a supportive and community-focused environment.

This position will be clinic-based. Typical clinic hours, Monday – Friday, 8 to 5 p.m. The physician will provide primary care for adults who have multiple medical conditions or undefined symptoms and complaints and should expect a diverse patient population. An elderly patient panel. It is not uncommon to have many patients over 90 years of age, all of whom still live independently, or within a nursing home/assisted care facility. Expect patients to present with multiple co-morbidities and complexities.

The services provided in the clinic include:

• Preventative medicine screening care such as mammograms, pap smears, routine colon cancer screening evaluations, cholesterol screening, blood pressure screening, etc.
• Care for patients with undefined symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, etc.
  Management of multiple medications.
• Care for patients with chronic medical illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, emphysema, etc.
• Pre-operative evaluations.
• Medical students and APPs in training rotate through the outpatient clinic setting.
• After-hours call is covered by the expert RN triage phone line. Primary Care providers provide backup for the expert RN triage phone line (currently equates to six days of call out of the year for each Internist).
• EPIC electronic medical record with excellent technical support.
