Job Opportunity for Family Medicine Physician in Virginia

Part-Time Board-Certified Physician (Family Medicine or Pediatrics) – Children & Adolescents Focus – Norfolk, VA

Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, Board-Certified Family Medicine or Pediatrics physician to join our dedicated healthcare team on a part-time basis. This position focuses exclusively on providing medical care to children and adolescents, primarily in a psychiatric residential treatment setting. The anticipated schedule is 4-5 days per week, with 4-5 hours per day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical exams, consultations, and follow-ups for psychiatric patients in residential treatment.
• Ensure proficiency in medical histories and physicals (H&P) and maintain continuity of care.
• Manage a variety of outpatient cases, including ear pain, lacerations, sore throats, abdominal pain, and diabetes management.
• Familiarity with psychotropic medications is a plus, but advanced psychiatry certifications are not required.
• Focus on the medical needs of psychiatric patients, rather than treating psychiatric conditions themselves.
