Aligned Providers Wyoming, an independent provider-owned group, is seeking an Experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join our group and practice in Gillette, Wyoming.


Position Overview:


As an integral part of our emergency department, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality and compassionate emergency medical care.     About Campbell County Health

    Since its inception in 1953, Campbell County Health has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare system encompassing Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, nearly 20 clinics, the Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center for long-term care, and the Powder River Surgery Center. As a designated Area Trauma Hospital by the State of Wyoming, it employs around 80 physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners across 20 specialties. With over 21,000 patient visits annually, this facility offers an exceptional opportunity in rural medicine.

    Emergency Department Highlights

    1. Patient Volume: 1.1 - 1.3 patients per hour
    2. EMR System: Pulse Check
    3. Facility Status: Designated Regional Trauma Center
    4. Emergency Department Capacity: 22 beds (including 2 Trauma and 4 Fast Track beds)
    5. Shifts: 10-hour shifts: 6am-4pm, 10am-8pm, 4pm-2am, 8pm-6am (2am until 10am is single coverage, otherwise all other times are double coverage)
    6. Block shift scheduling is available.


    Benefits

    • Flexible scheduling:
    1. Full time is defined as 120 hours per month or 12 shifts per month. Providers are offered the option of working additional shifts/hours if desired, but they are NEVER required.
    2. Block shift scheduling is common practice here.
  1. Shifts and Pay:
    1. Day Shifts: (6am to 6pm) OR (10am to 10pm): $238.82/hr.
    2. Mid Shifts: (4pm to 2am): $248.37
    3. Night Shifts: (8pm to 6am): $262.69

    Responsibilities

    • Patient Assessment and Triage: Rapidly evaluate patients presenting with acute medical conditions or trauma, prioritizing care based on severity.


    • Stabilization and Emergency Treatment: Initiate life-saving interventions, provide immediate treatment for critical conditions, and manage a wide range of emergency medical situations.


    • Procedural Expertise: Perform essential emergency procedures such as intubations, central line placements, wound repairs, and fracture reductions with precision and efficiency.


    • Diagnostic and Clinical Decision-Making: Interpret diagnostic results, including imaging and lab tests, to make accurate and timely clinical decisions.


    • Care Coordination: Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, specialists, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care transitions and effective communication.


    • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain thorough and accurate medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.


    • Patient and Family Communication: Provide clear explanations of diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes, offering reassurance and support in stressful situations.


    • Quality Improvement and Education: Engage in quality assurance activities, contribute to protocol development, and mentor residents or other healthcare staff as needed.


    • Emergency Preparedness: Stay prepared to respond to mass casualty incidents or other high-stress situations requiring coordinated efforts.


    • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in emergency medicine, maintaining certifications and participating in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

    Position Requirements


    Education

    1. MD or DO
    2. Must have completed an ACGME- AOA accredited residency or related fellowship

    Licensure/Certification

    1. Board Certified/Eligible (ABEM/AOBEM)
    2. WY State license (pending is acceptable at time of application)

    Experience

    1. New Grads are encouraged to apply.
    2. Must have (within the last 12 months) practiced in an emergency department reflective of the scope noted here, with a census equal to or exceeding 10,000 patient visits per year.

    Work Authorization

    1. USA Citizen or Appropriate work authorization

    Work Environment

    1. May work under stressful circumstances at times.
    2. Travel may be required

    Physical Requirements

    1. Medium Work – Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
