Position Summary:
The Office Medical Director (OMD) is responsible for oversight of all provider clinical and patient care activities in office practice. This includes participation in provider recruitment and retention, provider staffing, provider performance evaluation, provider discipline and corrective action plans and provider scheduling. The OMD and Practice Administrator (PA) work together collaboratively and effectively to manage the responsibilities and duties inherent in office practice.
Competencies:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathy.
Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served in the department. The ability to learn and use a computer-based patient appointment scheduling, registration system and EMR.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills necessary to interact with JHCP providers, staff and a diverse patient population. Effective organizational and time management skills. The ability to analyze data to synthesize and summarize information, and make judgments regarding patient care. Ability to document legibly using a writing instrument. Ability to use a computer keyboard to input and obtain data.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Maryland. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, or OB/GYN.
Work Experience: Minimum two years of clinical/leadership experience.
