Position Information
The EASTERN Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) is seeking applications for the position of staff physician, Cardiology Non-invasive. We're seeking a board-certified, full-time employed physician to join our Cardiology Non-invasive department at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy clinical practice and be dual board-certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. We are specifically seeking someone with an interest in Echocardiography, stress testing, Holter, event monitors. This opportunity has a combination outpatient and inpatient consults and management. Supports 60 60-bed VA hospital in Tulsa. Reports to the Chief of Medicine Specialty. Non-supervisory.
The Staff Physicians may have teaching opportunities due to our association with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the Oklahoma University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM) program. Qualified applicants will have an MD/DO, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Cardiology. The ideal candidate for the staff physician positions will be suitable for academic appointment at OSUCOM and OUCOM. At the level of assistant, associate, or full professor, as supported by a strong track record of academic and/or clinical excellence. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA.The clinical activities of the Section of Cardiology span the breath of the subspecialty and are strongly supported by surgery, pathology, radiology, and the other staff members of the Medicine Service.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).

Contract buyout program: VHA Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
