Seeking Clinical & Medical Biochemical Geneticists to join USF Pediatrics- Genetics Division in Tampa, FL

Job Description

The growing Division of Genetics and Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Geneticist and a full-time Biochemical Geneticist. These open rank positions include academic appointments in the Department of Pediatrics. USF is a global research university ranked by US New and World Report in 2025 as the number 1 medical school for research in Florida and in the top 16 for research in the country.    

The successful candidates will join a team of 2 clinical geneticists, 1 biochemical geneticist, 5 genetic counselors, 3 metabolic dietitians, and 4 research coordinators. Primary responsibilities will include providing inpatient consultative services for inborn errors of metabolism and general genetics at Tampa General Hospital and general genetics at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, as well as outpatient clinics.

The position is also expected to participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and genetic counselor students, as well as participate in research programs, including clinical trials and other clinical research.

The Division of Genetics and Metabolism participates in multiple national and international research trials for patients with inborn errors of metabolism.
