W.W. Hastings Hospital is a 60-bed inpatient hospital that Cherokee Nation assumed on October 1, 2008. The continuity of care across the health system is now complete and this is evidenced by tangible improvements to the facility and to service delivery. In December 2020, legislation was signed that will provide $400 million to fund construction of a brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital on the Tahlequah campus that will replace the existing W.W. Hastings building.  Construction is now underway, and we are looking forward to what is to come.

About the position: 

• Double Physician coverage 24/7 in main ED
• Physician coverage in ED Overflow working alongside independent practicing PAs
• ED Shifts currently: 7AM-7PM, 7PM-7AM
• ED Overflow hours: 8AM-12PM
• In-house, adult and pediatric hospitalists whom place admission orders
• Behavioral health clinicians embedded in ED for consultation
• MRI on site and available for emergency patients
• Primary stroke center with in-house consultants daily 8-5 and tele-med reminig hours 
• 24/7 surgery coverage, OB/GYN, and Nephrology coverage with in-patient hemodyalysis
• Case management assigned to ED
• 24/7 Ultrasound coverage
• ESI trained RNs for triage
• New hospital coming in 2026!
