Lexington Health is seeking a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician to join our growing Graduate Medical Education program in West Columbia, SC. Candidates with additional qualifications and certifications, such as geriatrics or other specialties of medicine, are welcome to apply!
Internal Medicine Core Faculty for the Lexington Health Internal Medicine Residency Program will devote a significant portion of their effort to resident education and assisting the IM Program Director in the development, leadership, supervision, and ongoing maintenance of the residency program. Faculty will be expected to lead, teach, supervise, and mentor resident physicians through the course of their duties. Yearly, faculty will be expected to complete the ACGME Faculty Survey to assist in further development of the program.

Job Requirements:
Time will be split between, educational, administrative and clinical care components as listed below. Faculty members can request to be mostly outpatient, mostly inpatient or a split of both. For Outpatient Faculty, they can expect to spend 2-3 half days seeing their own patients in our Internal Medicine Clinic. For Inpatient faculty, they can expect to be scheduled in a 7 on 7 off pattern for at least the first year of the program. For Split faculty, the schedule will be balanced based on program needs.

About Lexington Health's GME Program:
Lexington Health’s Internal Medicine Residency Program is slated to matriculate the first class of 13 residents in July of 2026. In the spring of 2023, Lexington Medical Center’s state of the art 3-story 48,000 sq. ft. GME building was completed.
