About the Opportunity

Aligned Providers Wyoming (APW) seeks experienced Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Providers (APPs/APRNs) for our Gillette, Wyoming location. This is a full-time position at Campbell County Health, offering the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, supportive environment.

As an integral member of our team, you will manage acute medical conditions and emergencies while working alongside a dedicated group of clinicians. APW empowers APPs and APRNs to practice at the fullest extent of their licensure, allowing you to perform procedures, make critical clinical decisions, and actively contribute to patient care plans, you will work in a highly collaborative environment that supports autonomy and professional growth

About Campbell County Health

Since its founding in 1953, Campbell County Health has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare system with a hospital, long-term care facility, surgery center, and 20 outpatient clinics. The Emergency Department is a regional trauma center with:

  1. Patient Volume: 21,000+ annual visits.
  2. Capacity: 22 beds, including trauma and fast-track.
  3. Support: Attending physicians always on site.
  4. EMR System: Pulse Check.
  5. Shift Structure: APPs work from 2 PM to Midnight, with 1 APP per shift.

Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical exams, FAST exams, and risk assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including but not limited to trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, and infections. (All ESI levels)
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work, imaging studies, and EKGs.

Procedural Skills

  • Perform advanced procedures within your scope of practice, including but not limited to:
    • Suturing and wound care.
    • Fracture reduction and splinting.
    • Airway management, including intubation.
    • Central line placement and chest tube insertion.
    • Arterial Puncture/Arterial Line placement
    • Abscess incision and drainage.
    • Simple Foreign body removal
    • Sedation and nerve blocks
    • Diagnostic procedures, including Lumbar puncture
    • Skeletal Procedures

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other team members to provide coordinated, efficient, and high-quality care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to discuss and optimize patient care plans.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for other healthcare providers and staff.

Emergency Management

  • Prioritize and manage multiple patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting.
  • Act as a leader in code situations, providing critical interventions and ensuring team cohesion.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using the department’s EMR system (Pulse Check).
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional standards of care.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
  • Stay current with best practices, continuing education, and professional development opportunities in Emergency Medicine.

Patient Education

  • Provide clear, compassionate communication with patients and families, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients on preventative care and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health.

Position Requirements

Education

Master or Doctorate’s Degree in Nursing -or – bachelor’s or master’s degree in physician assistant studies

Licensure/Certification

  1. Wyoming state licensure will be needed before credentialing can begin
  2. APRN, AP-C,ENP/FNP 
  3. ACLS, ATLS and PALS

Experience

  1. Must have graduated from an Emergency Medicine specialty residency/fellowship/internship or have sufficient working experience POST graduate experience in the ED.   
  2. The ideal post-grad EM experience is greater than 1 year. 
  3. EM experience as a rotation during schooling does NOT count 

Work Authorization

USA Citizen or Appropriate work authorization

Work Environment

  1. May work under stressful circumstances at times.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work – Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
