Job Description

Children's Wisconsin (CW), one of the nation's top-ranked pediatric healthcare systems, and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Neurologist to join our team in the Appleton, Wisconsin area. As a Child Neurologist at Children's Wisconsin, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to children with neurological conditions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to advancing pediatric neurology.

This is part of a major institutional commitment to the expansion of the Pediatric Neurosciences at CW and support its Care Closer to Home strategy. This team member will care for children both at the main CW campus location as well as at regional clinic site(s). CW is one of the largest free-standing children s hospitals in the United States.

Position Information

  1. Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with epilepsy, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and management of complex cases.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, and other pediatric neurologists.
  • Engage in cutting-edge research in pediatric epilepsy and contribute to the advancement of treatment options and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric neurology and epilepsy.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development within the epilepsy program.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced neurodiagnostic services, including video EEG monitoring, MEG, and neuroimaging.

Qualification Requirements:

  1. Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Neurology
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Pediatric Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Fellowship training in pediatric epilepsy or a strong clinical focus on epilepsy.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Interest in academic medicine and a desire to engage in research and teaching.

The role is employed by the Medical College of Wisconsin and provides care at Children s Wisconsin locations in Northeast Wisconsin. Both organizations are based in the Milwaukee area. The Medical College of Wisconsin pediatric specialty providers who work at the nationally ranked Children s Wisconsin are members of Children s Specialty Group, a strong group practice of more than 775 elite pediatric specialty physicians, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.

This position is located in Northeast Wisconsin as part of an innovative collaboration between Children s Wisconsin, Bellin Health and ThedaCare. These top-quality health care organizations are partnering to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents in Northeast and Central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, through joint venture called Connected for Kids. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with primary and specialty care providers at these organizations to improve patient outcomes.
