Kootenai Health Family Medicine Residency is seeking two family medicine physicians, with or without OB training and experience, who are passionate about teaching to join our vibrant group as core faculty members. Kootenai Health is our community-based regional referral medical center, with 330 licensed beds, 700+ medical staff providers and an emergency department registering over 54,000 patient visits in 2024.
We provide excellent community-based, full-spectrum, patient care and comprehensive resident training in a supportive environment. Summary
- FM/OB core faculty, teaching, mentoring, advising and supervising residents/medical students
- Attend on Family Medicine Inpatient Service as scheduled
- OB faculty call as scheduled only if trained,
- Provide comprehensive primary care for a personal panel of patients in a primary care clinic
- Participate in and coordinate regularly scheduled didactics and lead assigned curricular areas
- Be a role model in professionalism, self–care, team-based community health care, lifelong learning, and full scope outpatient family medicine practice
- Serve on relevant residency program and hospital committees
- Participate in scholarly activity and quality initiatives
- Other duties as necessary to meet ACGME requirements
Qualified Candidates:
- Current or eligible for licensure in the State of Idaho
- Board certified or eligible for board certification
- Completed an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency and
- Full-time position with hospital call and OB call required
- Post-graduate experience teaching residents is desirable but not required. Candidates should be flexible, and have excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Obstetric practice is required

About our Residency:
Founded in 2014 we are ACGME accredited, unopposed in our hospital, and a member of the University Of Washington Network Of Family Medicine Residencies. We are a 7-7-7 program with a Rural Health and Behavioral Health Fellowships. The program is supported by 10 core faculty, including a clinical pharmacist, psychiatrist, 4 practicing OB, and 5 affiliate faculty sharing inpatient attending coverage.
