Job Description

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank to join the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine in Morgantown, WV.

Duties:

  • Practice pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine in the inpatient and outpatient settings, including primary pulmonary and multidisciplinary clinics
  • Extend outreach services via telemedicine to clinics around the state.
  • Procedures, including the provision of bronchoscopies and the interpretation of pulmonary function testing and sleep studies are expected
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible for state medical license
  • Completion of a pediatrics residency program
  • Completion of pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine fellowship programs
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology, with additional board certification in Sleep Medicine
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment

About the Role:

  • The growing six-clinician division is currently staffed with support from a research coordinator, a nurse coordinator, a dietician, a pharmacist, committed pediatric respiratory therapists and social work support.
  • WVU's Mountain State Cystic Fibrosis Center is a CF-Therapeutics Development Network Center, managed within the division.
  • The center’s respiratory data are among the best in the country.
  • We also have an AASM accredited sleep lab and pediatric sleep disorders clinic.
